LHC is pretty pumped to introduce Adriana Rodricks to our culture! Here’s a little bit about Adriana!

“My name is Adriana and I'm 16 years old. I'm a Christian, a novice artist, and an Arts and Humanities student. I currently live in MH, India with my parents and an older sister. I love Jesus, Mama Mary and the saints; coffee and books. I also love meeting new people!”

I first have to say, go Adriana for starting this at such a young age. That is incredibly inspiring and wow, just wow. You have a gift, my friend and don’t stop! I think what has been the biggest blessing of starting this community is the fact that I live in Louisiana, USA and Adriana is in India! If that isn’t the amazingness of the Church, then I don’t know what is. Even though we are on completely different sides of the globe, we have all been brought together by our shared love of the Catholic Faith. I wanted to share Adriana’s beautiful and inspiring conversion story.

“I went to a Catholic school from Kindergarten to grade 10, and our faith was very 'central' I'd say, in this school. We had a retreat two years ago at the same school, and it was at this retreat that I had a beautiful conversion experience. I was never really interested in my faith until this. Also, just a few months ago, I had the symptoms of MS, and this had lasted for almost a year and half. I was healed completely after a priest prayed over me, and it was this same priest who was conducting the retreat at school. Later that year, I created an account on IG, and posted random watercolor artworks that were faith related. I then stumbled across some amazing Catholic digital art by awesome artists, and knew that I could do something like that as well. So, I tried drawing digitally and created St. Kateri's portrait, my first digital artwork! Since then, I've continued to create faith related art, to share stories of our friends in Heaven and proclaim the Gospel.”

Thank you Adriana for being so real with your story and for sharing the details. Those details matter and I know they have positively impacted me and I am sure others as well. I had to search for St. Kateri and here is the link to it

What is truly beautiful is how God can speak through any experience and any stage in life that we are in. It doesn’t matter what our age, weight, height, external appearance, or ANYTHING else like that is, all that matters is following God’s call.

“As a student, I usually am busy with assignments and projects and of course examinations/tests all the time. However, I try to find some time each day to create some faith related art. At times, it's difficult with the almost packed schedule, but I try to do it anyway.”

“I try to do it anyway”

That’s what we should tell ourselves when it’s busy, when you don’t feel like it, when...whatever your excuse is. Try to do it anyway. Bring God into the excuses and He will tell you if you need to press in or give yourself rest. Leave it up to God instead of leaving it up to your “feelings”...which are impossible most days.

“It would definitely be to START. Start wherever you are and what you have. We would never be where we are today if people with great ideas (that may seem stupid at first) never started. We must always start, even though sometimes the resources we have may seem little.”

THANK YOU. You have helped me by saying this. You will help others by saying this. It’s so easy to list the endless ways why starting something isn’t for you, but just start and try. See if it’s where God is leading you, and I promise, He will give you the resources as He sees fit.

Everyone, please go take a look at Adriana’s page and please give her some love and support.

Adriana, I would like to say “thank you” for just doing it anyway even at your young age. You will go far in life and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you.

Until next time,

LHC
