Mary Faucheux, owner of Simple Joyful Prints

Loreto House Creative is excited to share our latest contributor! Mary Faucheux is the owner of Simple Joyful Prints, a Catholic Art Shop that is simply showing sharing the joy of the Lord through modern Catholic art.

Let’s dive right in to Mary’s contribution!

A little bit about Mary:

“I’m a catholic convert, a chronic illness fighter, wife, and stay at home mom.”

Who is your fav Saint and what's the one way you've kept Christ in your business?

“Hard to pick a favorite but maybe St. Faustina!

I try to be inspired through prayer and I include a miraculous medal in every physical order!”

What is the "why" or mission statement behind why you do what you do?

“My mission statement is “Simply sharing the joy of the Lord through modern, Catholic art.”

What does your day to day look like as you pursue this dream?

“It’s different everyday with 2 littles, but I try to always do something that inspires me to work harder.”

How have you found ways to differentiate what you do from others doing something similar?

“In art, it’s tricky, but I think everyone has their own style and I try to stay original to mine and make sure there is nothing else like it before I create a new piece.”

Can you share 1-3 ways in which you have found success in your efforts?

“For me, it’s not about finding success. I think the definition of success is different for everyone. For me, success is impacting 1 person through my art.”

Can you share a way you have learned from a failure/mistake?

“Keep getting better and never stop trying to evolve and grow personally”

If you could tell your younger self starting out this business one thing to just DO, instead of letting fear take over, what would that be?

“You are going to mess up, and that’s ok. Learn from everything.”

If you could give one piece of encouraging advice, what would it be?

“If God is asking you to do something, just do it. He will provide and He will make a way.”

What is one question you are continually trying to find an answer to? A pain point in your business that you can't seem to figure out.

“Honestly, dealing with comparison.“

Thank you Mary for your heartfelt and insightful words of wisdom. All my Catholic Artists out there, share some thoughts about how it is running your Catholic Art business. Personally, I am so impressed with Catholic Artists.

Some thoughts that came to mind for me as I was reading Mary’s contribution, was around the idea of focusing on creating something new that you have never done before. Not necessarily focusing on the creation of something new in regards to what others has done, but just being focused on sticking to your roots, but also pushing the boundaries in what you have created and making sure it’s something new for you. I think it is so easy to look at something someone else has done and think, “well they have already done it. It’s probably not worth it for me to do it.” But remember that God has blessed each of us with uniqueness. So it doesn’t matter what someone else has done, you will have a unique spin on what you create because no one else is YOU.

Lastly, it is so easy (at least for me) to forget that God really does show up. He is always there, either walking beside you or sometimes even carrying you. Remember that if you have a dream on your heart. Like Mary said, “If God is asking you to do something, just do it. He will provide and He will make a way.” Amen! God will always provide a way. He never fails. So if you are on the fence of starting something, remember that God is also in the midst of that discernment and decision. He will be with you and hold your hand through it all, as well as make a way if it is apart of His marvelous plan for your life.

Mary, thank you for pressing into God’s desire for your life and thank you for sharing your insight with all of us! Everyone please make sure to get Mary a follow and check out her Etsy store!
