Do I embrace and Believe in the Love of the Father?

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might not perish
but might have eternal life.” John 3:16

As I sat reading the Gospel reading on the Solemnity of The Most Holy Trinity, I became increasingly aware of my lack of belief in the Love of the Father. And with that, I wonder if I am not alone in this. Reflecting on the statement that The Father gave His only Son to save us caused me to wonder if any father here on earth would give his son to save people that don't truly deserve saving. I think we can all quickly say that no dad would do this. But God the Father did this without question. He loves you and me so much that He was willing to give us His Son, who we killed and didn't believe in, but who ultimately opened heaven's gates for us.

How often do I not believe in the unconditional love of the Father? How often do I feel I am loved only by my good actions and deeds vs. simply existing? How often do I attribute my worth to my accomplishments when the Father clearly shows us that sending His Son to us had nothing to do with my actions?

Let's sit with this today as we reflect and glorify the Trinity. Let the Holy Spirit gently open our hearts to believe in the perfect love that The Father gifts us.
